Theater J offers a Pay-What-You-Can performance of Everything is Illuminated on Thurs, January 11 (7:30pm), plus some discounted previews on January 12 & 13 (8pm) and 14 (7:30pm). Based on the best-selling novel by Jonathan Safran Foer, this stage adaptation tells the story of a young man--also named Jonathan Safran Foer--who travels to Ukraine to find the woman who might or might not have saved his grandfather's life. Directed by Aaron Posner and featuring Eric Hissom, Alex Alferov, Billy Finn, Nancy Robinette and Daven Ralston.

Be the first to see Theresa Rebeck's The Way of the World at Folger Theatre which begins January 9 with a Pay-What-You-Will Performance. Tickets are first come, first served beginning at 5pm at the box office window; limit one ticket person. Additionally, playwright/director Rebeck will share her creative insights on the production in a pre-show discussion at 6:30pm on January 11 (tickets $20, separate admission from the play; wine reception with light fare is included). Theater J's Yiddish Theater Lab - a new initiative dedicated to preserving and reviving the forgotten literature of the Yiddish Theater - joins with Shakespeare Theatre Company's ReDiscovery Reading Series to present The Jewish King Lear on January 8 (at the Lansburgh Theatre).
