What’s the best way to explore the ever-evolving world of DC theater? By bicycle!

Back by popular demand, the THEATREWASHINGTON TOUR de DC AND VIRGINIA THEATERS going on its second ride to celebrate Theatre Week! This is a free, community bike ride lead by Theater J Artistic Director Adam Immerwahr that will visit the great theaters (and bicycle paths) from DC to Virginia. This will be a relaxed-pace, 16 mile ride with a 9:30am (check-in), going until approximately 2pm. We will begin at Arena Stage. This is a NO DROP RIDE. Please arrive at the ride start location at 9:30am with a helmet and bicycle lock, the ride will depart at 9:45am. Snacks will be provided at stops along the route, and riders will have an opportunity to purchase a beverage or snack at Busboys and Poets during our one hour “rest stop” in Shirlington, Virginia—please note that you will need to lock up your bicycle in Shirlington, so please bring your own lock.

You have the option to stay in Shirlington and see the 2:00pm matinee performance of Passion at Signature (you must purchase your tickets directly from Signature). Participants who see the musical will be given directions to bicycle back on their own, without the tour leader.

All riders will check-in and sign a waiver. Please note that if you are using a bicycle-share, there will not be opportunities to dock it along the ride—you will need to rent it for the entire ride period.
