The Children's Hour

10/16/2018 - 7:30pm - 10:00pm

The Theatre Lab’s Acting in A Professional Production class presents four free staged readings this fall. The readings are centered around plays of social justice and include some of the DC areas most notable actors. The final reading in the series is The Children’s Hour by Lillian Hellman.

This play is a brutal examination of lack of justice and the dangers of intolerance. It focuses on an all girls boarding school in which the two headmistresses are falsely accused of having a homosexual affair. The resulting destruction of their lives shows the unfair nature of society towards those deemed as immoral. This performance is directed by Melissa Baughman with the appearance of guest actor Tonya Beckman as Martha.
Please note: This play contains mature content and suicide.

The performance will take place at 6:30pm on October 2nd and will be held at the Washington Stage Guild (900 Massachusetts Ave NW).
